It was over two years ago that I hopped on a plane, left my family, three awful hospitality jobs and jet-setted for South Africa for 15 months to work in a primate sanctuary.

Sound slightly random?? Haha maybe but there was reason behind my madness.

I am an avid animal lover (mostly cats....but others too!!) and had studied Animal Science for three years. I had become to love monkeys, primates and wanted to work with them desperately! Funnily enough they were in short supply in Australia and to get into a zoo as a keeper over there you have to pretty much wait till a zoo keeper dies or get them assassinated!!Not really worth it although a slight possibility! Thus I left for ol' Africa, one of the best but hardest decisions of my life.

It didn't really hit me until I was walking away from my family what I was actually doing and although I was excited and knew it was the right thing for me it was hard walking away from everyone I knew and the life I had built for myself.....heading towards the unknown....dun dun dunnnnn!!!

I was warned about Africa sure. About how dangerous it is, about how many rapes each year there are how you cannot walk alone at any time etc etc. To be fair I did my fair share of research online too and the numbers were a tad scary, but on the other hand most of the incidents I was reading involved stupid foreigners getting drunk or high and putting themselves in stupid situations. So I was not too worried but prepared to have my guard up at all times!

So off I went....my adventure just beginning! My felt like I had been on pause until now and I had just pressed play!!!

Stay tuned for AFRICA!

My sister and I just before I left home!

A warm fuzzy welcome!!!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my world!!

A short sweet introduction to this fabulous blog and myself is needed I believe!!! My name is Chelsea and this is my first, ever blog post! I am Australian, but currently living in the UK.  I have been away from home for over two years and have visiting many wonderful and amazing places that I am dying to share with you!

I will be doing a series of blogs about places I have been (taken from my personal diary) and shall post them regularly up here. Also I will be posting about: my future travel ideas/plans, the takeoff of my new business in the health and wellness industry, my beautiful fur-baby Aylena and anything that comes to mind really!

One of the main reason for this blog is to get myself out there and meet new people! I would love to connect with any of you that have anything in common with me or if you just want to check in and say HI!! Do it please!!! :-D

Stay tuned!
